New stuff by Kat Von D: eyeshadows Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette

Hello Girls,

Have you ever heard about eye contouring trend? It’s a new way of defining look that was promoted by Kat Von D, this world-famous tattoo artist and the creator of original make-up cosmetics. The good news is that she has just launched the new eyeshadow palette named Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette.

Light VS Shadow

This new eyeshadow palette by Kat Von D enables doing either dark or fulgent eye make-up; and basically this is where the name of palette, Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette, comes from. Of course, you can combine these two techniques to obtain the effect of eye contouring. Actually, by using these new neutral, warm or cool shades, you can get the effect of delicate highlighting or defining the look strongly. The matte colours perfectly serve as the base shadows which, of course, facilitate shaping eyelids.

How to contour eyes?

First and foremost, you will find useful the leaflet that the palette by Kat Von D goes with as well as the manual placed at the back of the packaging. Actually, all the shades were divided into three groups, each of them matching a particular tone of complexion: neutral, cold or warm. What connects all the groups is a brown shade as well as three other shadows due to which you are able to contour, enhance, define and highlight your look. Naturally, thanks to this combination, you’ll be able to do make-up that suits all occasions; no matter if you want to look good at work or at a party. With the aid of Kat Von D’s palette, you can get the look you want to have. It’s also worth mentioning that the packaging features a mirror which facilitates applying eye make-up.

Base eyeshadows have to be applied to eyelids (also to the above crease area) and then you can follow with creating the effect of, so-called, chiaroscuro. Usually, the darker shades should be put on the outer corner of the eye so as to enlarge the eyes and lift the drooping eyelids. In order to define the crease of eyes you should use the contour shade. The brightest colour should be applied to the inner corners so as to define the look. As a consequence, you will obtain the eye-enhancing effect and the entire face will become more radiant and younger.

My opinion concerning Kat Von D eyeshadow palette

The entire palette is composed pretty well as is the colour range of the shadows. I do like the idea with dividing the colours into skin ones and attaching a leaflet as a kind of guide. And how can I describe the very shadows? Definitely, they are finely grinded and strongly pigmented (well-saturated). They can be applied wet and dry. If you would like to obtain more intensive effect, just apply more than two layers of the cosmetic. In order to contour your eyes, use precise brushes made of natural bristle.

Are you eager to give a go to the new eyeshadow palette by Kat Von D?
