Beauty Blender cleaning – Proven techniques

Today I decided to show you a few precious pieces of information concerning cleaning this magic little sponge called Beauty Blender. Just for you, to make your life easier 🙂

My adventure with Beauty Blender started a year ago, I guess. The reason I fell in love with this sponge is because it’s really convenient to apply a foundation just by using it. In my opinion, the effect is more natural than when spreading the cosmetic with a brush. The wide bottom part of the item enables fast and even distribution of the foundation and other products along the entire face, whereas this narrow part helps with applying cosmetics to the hard-to-reach face spots – corners of the eyes, under eye area, nose area. OK, let’s stop here because…

Beauty Blender has its drawbacks as well! Actually, it has just one flaw, which is quite considerable though. The item gets dirty fast and it’s more difficult to clean it, especially when compared to cleaning process of a brush. I find it fairly troublesome, especially if we use Beauty Blender daily because after every foundation application we have to use our hands to make the item clean again. It’s not that easy when the cosmetic product soaks into the sponge and it looks that it’s clean on the outside but we know that this doesn’t apply to the inside of the item.

Until recently, I just used to replace one Beauty Blender with another. However, in the long run this solution doesn’t pay off because the original Beauty Blender is rather expensive, at least for me. The cost is noneconomic because the sponge has to replaced frequently. I started trying out various solutions to increase the durability of the item. I gave a go to many different tricks and I and eventually worked out…

TWO EFFECTIVE WAYS TO CLEAN BEAUTY BLENDER

Firstly, put the Beauty Blender into a microwave

Take your dirty Beauty Blender. Pour water either to a glass or any other container so as to drown the Beauty Blender there completely. Add a small portion of liquid soap, dishwashing soap or a shampoo (a product you normally use to clean your Beauty Blender) and mix it with water. Put your sponge there and then place everything into the microwave. Set the clock for 1 minute. Next, take the Beauty Blender out and remove the water from the item. Of course, remember that the water is hot so do your best not to scorch your hands. Finally, your Beauty Blender is perfectly clean and disinfected therefore you can use it again straight away.

Secondly, put the Beauty Blender into a washing machine

This method works out if you have more than one Beauty Blender – one can be used, and the second one can be cleaned. Take the dirty sponge and throw it to the washing machine. You can do it when you want to do your regular laundry because turning on washing machine only to clean the Beauty Blender is pointless. In order to prevent any damages to have the impact on the sponge, set the lowest temperature and the lowest number of spins. When taken out from the washing machine, the sponge is going to be as clean and fresh as when you brought it home for the first time. Ready to apply make-up!
