My natural eyelashes, unfortunately, do not look their best. After spending a long time applying traditional cluster lashes, I decided to try something new and test DIY lash extensions. I was inspired by Instagram and TikTok videos, showing how quickly and easily they can be applied. I decided to try this method and see if it really is as simple as it seems. DIY lashes can be purchased in starter kits, which contain all the products needed for applying them. I decided to test five different kits to find the best one. Here is my ranking of five products from popular brands.
Eyelash extension starter kit – how did I choose the best one?
DIY lash extensions differ from traditional cluster lashes as they are applied underneath real lashes. Although you can buy them in regular drugstores, the online range is much wider. For me, it was a complete innovation, so I decided to create a ranking of lash extension kits, which will also be helpful for other beginners to this method.
Choosing only five products was difficult, but I didn’t want to buy too many at once, especially since some of them were quite expensive. I decided on the most popular kits that already had good reviews. The key factor was that each kit should include an applicator, an adhesive, and a protectant.
During my search, I discovered that some brands also include a remover in their kits, which makes it easier to remove the false lashes safely. This is a really useful accessory that I recommend keeping in mind when choosing your kit.
Eyelash extension kit – ranking for beginners
Each product included here is an eyelash extension kit for beginners. During my tests, I considered the number of cluster lashes in the kit, the content of additional products, the time needed for applying them, and the durability of the lashes. I wanted my ranking to be as reliable and helpful as possible. Here are the results.
1. Nanolash DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit
Nanolash DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit is a do-it-yourself lash extensions starter kit that includes everything you need for applying the lashes. The kit includes 36 cluster lashes in three different lengths: 10, 12, and 14 mm. In addition, it also includes two formulas: a bonder and a sealer, necessary for applying the lashes, each with a capacity of 5 ml. There is also an applicator and a 5 ml remover. A big plus is that all the items in the kit are aesthetically organized and labeled, which makes things much easier, especially if you’re doing it for the first time.
The cluster lashes from Nanolash are extremely soft and look very natural on real lashes. The applicator is comfortable to use and the consistency of the glue is perfect, making the process of applying the lashes take less than 10 minutes. It really is a quick and easy method. The starter kit is enough to perform four full applications, which is very economical.
Nanolash DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit comes with lashes in eight different styles, such as CHARM, INNOCENT, and HEARTBREAKER, allowing you to customize your lash look to your preferences. In my case, the lashes lasted as long as 8 days, which is a proof of their exceptional durability. This is definitely a kit worth testing out if you’re looking for effective and easy-to-use at-home lash extensions.
2. Glamnetic Lash Extension Kit
The Glamnetic Lash Extension Kit initially seemed quite promising. Like the other kits, it includes lash clusters, Bonder, Sealer, an applicator, and Remover, making it easy to remove the lashes. In addition, the cluster lashes come in a variety of styles, giving you the opportunity to customize your look to your preferences.
Unfortunately, upon opening the kit, my first impression was not the best. The cluster lashes do not look as good in person as they do in photos online. After putting them on, I had mixed feelings. They didn’t look that bad but I didn’t feel comfortable wearing them. That’s why, despite the fact that these lashes should last up to 5 days on my real lashes, I decided to remove them after just two days.
In my opinion, the Glamnetic Lash Extension Kit did not live up to my expectations. Although it provides a set of necessary products and a variety of lash styles, the quality of the cluster lashes is not comparable to competing kits. If you want a natural look and a long-lasting effect, it’s worth looking for another kit that will meet these requirements better.
3. KISS Falscara Starter Kit
The kit from the KISS brand, known as the Falscara Starter Kit, can be purchased even in regular drugstores. Unfortunately, it contains just 10 cluster lashes, which is a major drawback. The kit comes with two formulas: BOND, which is applied before applying the lashes, and SEAL, which is used to fix the lashes in place. The price of the kit is comparable to the previous two, which may make its purchase seem less cost-effective.
Fortunately, the lashes from this set look very aesthetically pleasing, and applying them went smoothly. The manufacturer assures that the lashes can be worn for up to 10 days continuously, and they are reusable. Theoretically, you can use them up to three times, provided that they are secured overnight with a special OVERNIGHTER Long Wear Sealer every day. Unfortunately, the starter kit does not include this product, which is a big downside. In order to enjoy the extended effect and multiple use of the lashes, it is necessary to buy the OVERNIGHTER separately, which generates additional costs. Nevertheless, the quality of the lashes is satisfactory and despite minor inconveniences, the final result was satisfying.
4. Lashify Starter Kit
When creating my ranking of DIY eyelash-styling kits, I found some products to be significantly more expensive than others. The Lashify Starter Kit was by far the most expensive kit I tested. It cost a lot more than the other products on the list, which unfortunately didn’t translate into the number of elements included. There are only 10 cluster lashes in the kit, which is enough for a single application.
However, the quality of the Lashify kit is undeniable. The lashes are incredibly light and soft, which makes them look very natural when applied. The application was seamless and I was very pleased with the final result. The Lashify lashes blended in perfectly with my natural lashes, which made the finished look sensational.
Unfortunately, although the Lashify kit provides excellent quality, the price seems excessive. Comparing it to the kit from Nanolash, which also delivered great results, I have to admit that Lashify seems a bit overpriced. In the end, although my impressions of the application and appearance of the lashes were very positive, I felt that I overpaid for this product. It may be an ideal choice for those who appreciate top quality and are willing to pay for it, but for me, the value for money was a bit unsatisfactory.
5. Tatti Lashes Invisi-Lash Kit
The last at-home eyelash extension kit I tested was the Tatti Lashes Invisi-Lash Kit. This is a product priced at the level of most kits available on the market. According to the manufacturer, the kit cis enough for 4 to 8 lash styles, which seems like a pretty good value. So far, I’ve used it three times and noticed that I still have quite a few cluster lashes left, which indicates its efficiency.
The DIY lash extension kit from Tatti Lashes provides some interesting options. It can be purchased with lashes on a clear or black strip. In addition, the brand provides a choice of seven lash styles, giving users quite a few options to customize the look to their preferences. The kit also includes an applicator, a brush, Invisi-Lash Bond, and Seal Glue.
Applying the cluster lashes using the Tatti Lashes Invisi-Lash Kit was relatively easy and didn’t cause me much difficulty. The glue had a good consistency and the applicator proved comfortable to use. The durability of the lash clusters was acceptable – they lasted on my lashes for several days, although the manufacturer promised up to a week. Nevertheless, I consider the result quite good.
Which lash extension kit turned out to be my favorite? Ranking summary
The best kit I tested was the Nanolash DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit. This kit contains everything you need to style your eyelashes, and on top of that, its price is very affordable considering the quality. The lashes from this kit were soft, easy to apply, and lasted a week on my lashes. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for an easy and effective way to apply at-home lash extensions.
What makes the Nanolash kit so special? First of all, its excellent value for money. The kit contains everything you need to style your lashes: 36 lash clusters in three different lengths (10, 12, and 14 mm), a bonder, a sealer, an applicator, and a remover. All of these items are not only functional, but also work great in practice.
Applying the lashes was quick and easy for me. Even the first time I used them, thanks to the convenient applicator and properly formulated adhesive, the whole process took less than 10 minutes. The cluster lashes are soft and look very natural, which is a huge plus for me. These lashes lasted on my eyes for as long as eight days, which is a proof of their great durability.
While testing other kits, such as the Glamnetic Lash Extension Kit, Kiss Falscara Starter Kit, Lashify Starter Kit, and Tatti Lashes Invisi-Lash Kit, I noticed some imperfections. Some of these products were expensive without providing better quality. Others contained fewer cluster lashes, which meant they were not as efficient as Nanolash.
For example, the Glamnetic kit was well-equipped, but the lashes didn’t look as good in person, which made me feel less comfortable wearing them. The Kiss Falscara Starter Kit provided only 10 cluster lashes, which was far too few. Lashify, despite its high quality, came at a very exorbitant price. Tatti Lashes performed well, but also fell short of Nanolash in terms of overall quality and performance. Remember, however, that choosing your kit depends on your individual preferences and needs, so consider which features are most important to you.
