Hello, my darlings.
Today we have mascara review — it is a mascara that (apparently) is one of the bestsellers in the world. I’m talking about Better Than Sex Too Faced. I wonder why it is so popular. What is so great about it? Besides the daring name, this mascara has nothing that could indicate it is something special. The wand is not a thing of beauty and is most certainly not innovative — many other mascaras have wands with similar shape and is not as cherished as this one. What is more, the wand is not as we like it, which means silicon, but synthetic. However, the undeniable fact is that this mascara is selling with surprising (and totally unclear to me) speed. I decided to buy it and test it.
When it comes to the packaging, then, in fact, it is pretty cool. The bottle is made of metal and has a colour of soft, pastel pink. The writing was embedded and kept in the same colour as the rest, while the entire thing is stunning also due to mascara being matte.
When it comes to the name, then yes, it is clever, daring and perverse, definitely, most women bought it due to its slightly suggestive name. Nonetheless, it does not work for me. No cosmetic will ever be better than… 🙂 However, the idea behind this mascara and its scandalous name do the trick — it tempts you to try it.
On numerous websites, I read that it is full of collagen and peptides, so it nourishes lashes and all. In the meantime, when you take a look at the composition you will see that Better Than Sex is a mascara with as many conditioning ingredients as the controversial ones. For example, I hate fibres in mascara. No mascara with fibres will have a beneficial impact on my lashes — after some time I always experience discomfort because the mascara somehow irritates my eyes and its microscopic fibres get underneath the contact lanes and it’s unbearable. Better Than Sex contains polyester fibres that build up volume and length of every lash. The effect may be pretty and this mascara will be loved by all the girls with short lashes. The hourglass shaped wand is the best that could be used when it comes to an average synthetic wand — it at least has a possibility to grip and separate each lash. Volume and length are maintained when applying the first layer because every following (sadly) clumps lashes and creates spidery legs. One layer is enough to perform full make-up. Better Than Sex is a mascara you need to know how to use and you have to be immune to the fibres in the composition. The fact is that when I finally “understood” what it is the best way to apply this mascara I achieved a very pleasing effect of long and deep black lashes. My joy wasn’t long-lasting as after about 4 hours I felt this bad irritation in eyes. The fibres reminded me about themselves. In spite of the mascara providing great result on eyelashes — unfortunately, it is not for me… and it most definitely is NOT better than sex 🙂
